I direct a one-of-a-kind laboratory for the energy transition — and I build the AI that makes it run. The Swiss Energypark is a ~250 km² real-world testbed where wind (Switzerland's largest wind farm), solar (the pioneering 1992 Mont-Soleil plant) and hydro cover 80–90% of the needs of 23,000 inhabitants. I steer its portfolio of 15+ research projects with EPFL, EMPA, CSEM, BFH and other leading institutions — including CircuBAT, an Innosuisse Flagship I co-initiated (11 academic and 24 industrial partners). Trained as a molecular biologist (peer-reviewed publications), turned entrepreneur (2 international patents, ISPO Award, BCN Innovation Prize), I operate at both ends of the innovation chain: I design research collaborations — and I personally architect the data platforms that turn them into deployable tools. The SEP platform ingests ~400 million measurements per year across 10,000 sensing points, on a secure 3-layer architecture I built using agentic AI coding — in weeks, not months. This dual fluency answers the question most organizations struggle with: what level of research actually makes industrial sense. Current engagements at the AI × industry frontier: Program Lead of the AIxEn Congress — Artificial Intelligence in the Energy Sector (Kursaal Bern, Nov 25, 2026), Industrial Committee of the Swiss Center for Artificial Intelligence, member of the Research Community BKW, and Advisor & AI Lead at CultureCare, where AI-personalized cultural experiences accelerate patient recovery.
